Alopecia Areata
Alopecia areata is one of the common hair loss diseases which are seen in men, women and small children. But the children are more prone to this disorder. Alopecia areata is a condition in which the bald patches are present on the scalp and it does not cure by any treatment. Sometimes it affects the entire body and such disease is called alopecia universalis.
Causes for Alopecia Areata
The main cause of alopecia areata is the autoimmune factor. Due to this the antibiotic hit healthy cells i.e. the hair follicle. The other causes of alopecia areata are genetic factors, depression or mantal tension.
Symptoms of Alopecia Areata
The common symptom of alopecia areata is the round or oval shaped patches are seen on the scalp and some short hairs are there over the patches. The person affected by alopecia areata may feel scratchy sensation on that area.
How to cure Alopecia Areata?
There is no particular treatment for alopecia areata. You can apply some topical treatment in severe cases. But it will take more time to growth the hair. You can also go for PUVA thrapy for regrowth the hair. Another treatment for alopecia areata is steroid injections. This can be injecting on the affected area for hair growth. But these treatments are not useful for all.
